"No Spotlight Needed"

I have attempted to start blogs before and I've gone through dozens of names. This time though, it's different. A quick History:

I like to think I'm not too much of an attention hog. However, being a dancer, over the years I learned to love the spotlight. It's not something I developed, it's a part of my personality that was brought to the surface. Many times, my actions or lack of action was due to how I thought it would look to other people. Everything  I did was to make people like me. I didn't tell jokes to make people laugh, I did it to make people think I was funny. I'm ashamed of it, but often when I talked about Christ is was so people would think I was a good Christian. In all reality, I was drowning every day in doubt and fear.

Recently, I have realized how wrong this attitude is. My life should be focused on my relationship with Christ and what He thinks of me alone.
Don't get me wrong, I still love my time in the spotlight. But I don't need it.

Those who Shine from within, don't need a spotlight. And when all the glitter fades, there will still be stardust in her veins.

I also love quotes. This is one of my favorites and the inspiration for my blog name. Because, this time, I'm not writing to become internet famous or anything, I just need a place to get my thoughts and feelings out. If I don't, I just might go crazy.

Get to Know Me!

So, if I'm going to be baring my soul and innermost thoughts on here, you should at least know a bit about me. First of all, here's a picture from prom:

1. I'm 18 years old.

2. I'm a freshman at Pearl River Community College.

3. I'm a sinner saved by Grace.

 4. I love my little Missionary Baptist Church.

5. I'm pursuing a degree in either Elementary Education or Hospitality/Tourism. (Hardest decision ever because they're such different fields.)

6. I have four beautiful baby cousins who I love to spoil.

7. I'm a HUGE fan of Musical Theatre.

8. I play the piano.

9. I'm a Ravenclaw.

10. I have a dog named Foxy and a cat named Pippin.

11. I overthink a lot.

12. I try to be an extremely positive person but it's not always easy.

13. My favorite number is 23.

14. I've never had a boyfriend, been kissed, or even been on a date.

15. I try to be very creative and crafty.

So that's the basics of who I am. But you wanna know a secret? Not just about me but about all people. I could list a thousand facts and it would only scratch the surface of who I am.  If you'd like to know who I am, you're just going to have to stick around. Because just like everyone else, I'm a work in progress and no list can really tell you the essence of me.
